About Lunar Pig
Founded by writer/director/producer Craig Mooneyham, Lunar Pig Productions is an independent film production company with a penchant for producing thought-provoking stories and content for all screen sizes and types. We partner with talented writers, actors, and producers to bring stories to life onscreen, stories that are both cerebral and entertaining.
PAST PROJECTS
The Early Films
2009-2018 - These mark the years of amateur filmmaking, during which time Craig and partners cut their teeth on writing good stories but producing films that left much to be desired. These films include Four Horses, Conjecture, The Tree of Good and Evil, and with the Spring Film Group My Bully and 12:42.
Salting the Fly
2019 - Under the previous company name of Pathless Land Pictures, we partnered with actor/writer/director Jacob Reynolds and production company Vernon-Mckee (producer Molly Vernon and Emmy Award winning cinematographer, the late Larry McKee) on the short film, Salting the Fly, which screened at 31 film festivals and won numerous awards, including Best of the Fest, Best Domestic Short Film, and Best Actor.
Salting the Fly: With a precarious fate approaching, Danny, an autistic teenager, and his older brother David perform a familiar childhood ritual to lighten the gravity of their plight. As time runs out, however, the brothers must leave their childhood behind to confront family demons, challenge futile beliefs, and transcend communication barriers to find solace amidst their crumbling world.
CURRENT & UPCOMING PROJECTS
Seeing the Unseen
2023 - Partnering again with actor/producer Jacob Reynolds and long-time collaborators Sam Renaud (cinematography) and David Williams (composer), we are in preproduction for the micro-short suspense drama, Seeing the Unseen: A young woman robbing a couple's home becomes enchanted by the life she imagines they lead and is interrupted by the homeowners' arrival. Unable to flee the house in time, she hides beneath the couple's bed and is floored by events that unfold before her and must make a decision to act or remain unseen.

Early June 2023 Update: The film is now in production. We are happy to be working with a great cast comprised of Zoe Graham (Boyhood, Secret in Their Eyes), Jacob Reynolds (Gummo, For Love of the Game), and Michelle Magallon (Rich Kids), as well as a stellar crew, reuniting with Mike Snow (gaffer), Chris Osby (camera operator), and Misty Reed (makeup artist), all having worked on our last short film, Salting the Fly.

Late June 2023 Update: That's a wrap! The film has now moved into post-production with Sam Renaud editing and color grading, Gerry Gallegos and David Williams on foley and sound design, and David Williams on music.
Seven & Thirteen
2024 - Slated for Spring 2024, we will partner with Jacob Reynolds to produce the sci-fi short film Seven & Thirteen: Vowing to avenge a crime against his younger sister, a devoted brother participates in a court sanctioned hyper-real virtual reality program to punish his sister’s offender under the watchful eye of artificial intelligence. On the thirty-first session in the program, an anomaly occurs as one of the AIs poses a question that pulls the proverbial rug from under the brother's feet.
